The Cardinals dropped the series finale 2-0 but still took the set 2-of-3 from Kansas City. Pallante turned in a quality start -- 6.2 IP / 8 H / 2 R / 1 ER / 0 BB / 7 K -- and the bullpen trio of Svanson, Bruihl, and Pushard finished the game without allowing another run. The damage came on a Salvador Perez sacrifice fly in the 1st that scored Garcia, and Perez's solo HR (his 7th of the season) to left in the 4th. The offense had base hits from Herrera, Burleson, Gorman, Winn, and Saggese plus walks from Wetherholt and Gorman, but never strung anything together against Kolek (6.1 IP / 4 H / 0 R / 0 ER / 1 BB / 3 K) and the Royals' bullpen tandem of Lynch and Erceg.
