YESTERDAY'S RESULT--STL 5, CLE 3
CLE  1 0 0 0 0 0 2 0 0 -- 3
STL  0 1 0 0 0 3 1 0 0 -- 5
Cardinals took 2-of-3 from Cleveland behind a strong Dustin May outing (6.0 IP, 1 ER, 4 K, 1 BB). Nathan Church led the offense going 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. A three-run sixth inning -- highlighted by Alec Burleson's two-RBI single through a drawn-in infield -- broke a 1-1 tie. Bruihl wobbled in the seventh (2 ER on Bo Naylor's two-RBI double), but Romero (1.1 IP, 0 H) and O'Brien (1.0 IP, 2 K) locked it down.

Key performer: Church (3-for-4, 2B, RBI, 2 R, SB) -- the catalyst at the bottom of the order.
PREDICTION GRADES
Result: 0/4 Correct

WRONG -- May TTO2 scoring window: "Cleveland scores 2+ runs in innings 4-6." Cleveland scored zero runs in innings 4-6. Their damage came in the 1st (1 R) and 7th (2 R off Bruihl), completely missing the TTO2 window.

WRONG -- Ramirez multi-reach: "Jose Ramirez reaches base at least 2 times (H + BB)." Ramirez went 0-for-4 with 0 BB. Zero reaches. May and the bullpen held him completely in check.

WRONG -- Cardinals RHB production: "Cardinals RHB combine for 6+ hits." Named batters: Herrera 0 H, Walker 1 H, Urias 0 H, Winn 1 H, Pozo DNP, Saggese DNP. Total: 2 hits. Far short of the 6-hit threshold -- Pozo and Saggese not in the lineup gutted the volume assumption.

WRONG -- May walk trouble: "Dustin May issues 3+ walks." May issued just 1 walk in 6.0 IP. His best command performance of the young season.

Takeaway: The platoon and TTO2 frameworks pointed in the wrong direction. May's command was far sharper than projected, and Ramirez had an uncharacteristic 0-reach night. Full reset for Houston.
Cardinals off day. No scout report today.

Next game: Friday, April 17 vs Houston Astros at Daikin Park -- 7:10 PM CT. Game 1 of 3.

NL Central standings: Pirates and Reds tied atop the division at 11-7. Cardinals sit 1.0 GB at 10-8 on a two-game winning streak. Brewers (9-8) and Cubs (9-9) round out a tightly bunched division where 2.0 games separate first from last.
